GCCC's Sulfur Mine is a registered Asian Violet (Primulina) hybridized by Fang Wen, Yi-Gang Wei and Shu Li from a cross of Primulina liujiangensis and Primulina lutea. This distinctive cultivar forms a basal rosette of thick, fleshy foliage.
When in bloom, GCCC's Sulfur Mine produces striking yellow flowers with pale purple accents, bright yellow nectar guides and dark purple striping. The unusual combination of yellow and purple makes this cultivar especially distinctive among Primulina.
Registered in 2020, GCCC's Sulfur Mine is sterile and is propagated vegetatively rather than from seed.
HCN grows GCCC's Sulfur Mine as an established live plant in a 4-inch nursery pot.
Plant Information
🌿 Asian Violet (Primulina)
💜 Charm, bold color. Asian Violets are slow-growing Gesneriads with shimmery leaves and delicate blooms. Originally native to the limestone cliffs and forest understories of southern China and northern Vietnam, Asian Violets have adapted to thrive in low-light, low-nutrient environments. Perfect for collectors of African Violets and other Gesneriads.
🌸 Bloom Assurance
When you select an In Bloom / Budding plant, we select an established Asian Violet that is blooming or already developing buds at the time it is prepared for shipment.
When you select Out of Bloom, you will receive the same type of established plant in a 4-inch nursery pot, but it may not have flowers or active buds at the time of shipment. Out-of-bloom plants are a great option for enjoying the distinctive foliage of Asian Violets while growing the plant toward its next bloom cycle.
Because these are living plants, flowers and buds can naturally change during packing and transit.
