Description
๐ธ Streptocarpus (Cape Primrose) Care Guide
Streptocarpus, also known as Cape Primrose, is a vibrant and long-blooming member of the Gesneriad family. We offer plants in full bloom, actively budding, or post-bloom (‘Out of Bloom’)—giving you the choice to enjoy flowers immediately or save by selecting a plant that's taking a short rest.
These plants bloom repeatedly throughout the growing season and may rest briefly during colder months. Known for their resilience, Streptocarpus are among the hardier Gesneriads, making them a favorite for indoor growers.
Care Instructions
โ๏ธ Sunlight
๐ฅ๏ธ Provide 10+ hours of indirect light daily for continuous blooming.
๐
If exposed to direct sun, limit it to 2–3 hours of soft morning light only.
๐ง Watering
๐ง Water when the top of the soil feels dry.
โ ๏ธ Streptocarpus prefer to be on the drier side—avoid overwatering.
๐ซ๏ธ Mist the leaves occasionally. Use well-draining soil.
๐ผ Fertilization
๐ง Use a liquid fertilizer (8โ14โ9)
๐ฅ Apply a weak solution once a month during the growing season.
๐ก๏ธ Temperature & Humidity
๐ก๏ธ Ideal range: 70°–80°F (21°–27°C)
โ ๏ธ Avoid temperatures above 80°F and below 50°F—Streptocarpus prefer stable, mild conditions.
๐ง Humidity: 40%–50% preferred
