Heavenly Creation Nursery (HCN) is a family-owned nursery located in Palm Harbor, Florida. HCN specializes in established live plants for home growers and collectors, with a particular emphasis on African Violets, Hoya, Asian Violets (Primulina), and other Gesneriads.

HCN sells plants online through HCNursery.com and ships live plants throughout the contiguous 48 United States.

How HCN Grows Gesneriads

All Gesneriads sold by Heavenly Creation Nursery are grown and maintained in climate-controlled growing facilities.

These facilities allow HCN to manage important growing conditions including temperature, light and general growing environment throughout the year.

HCN's emphasis is on healthy, established plants with developed root systems rather than tiny starter plugs or unrooted material unless a particular product listing explicitly states otherwise.

Plant-growing practices vary by genus and species. Individual HCN product pages, collection information and care guides should be used when more specific growing information is required.

African Violets

African Violets are a primary specialty of Heavenly Creation Nursery and represent HCN's largest plant collection.

HCN offers a changing selection of named African Violet cultivars. Depending on current inventory, individual plants may be offered as In Bloom / Budding or Out of Bloom (OOB).

In Bloom / Budding

When a plant is offered as In Bloom / Budding, HCN selects an established plant that is blooming or developing buds when it is prepared for shipment.

Because African Violets are living plants, individual flowers and buds can naturally change during packing and transit.

Out of Bloom (OOB)

An Out of Bloom plant is an established African Violet that may not have flowers or active buds when shipped.

Out-of-bloom plants are not a different cultivar or lesser plant. Bloom status describes the plant's flowering stage at the time it is prepared for sale and shipment.

Asian Violets and Primulina

HCN uses the customer-friendly term Asian Violet for plants in the genus Primulina that are sold within HCN's Asian Violet collection.

Primulina belongs to the Gesneriad family. Asian Violets are related to African Violets through that family but are a separate genus with their own characteristics and growing requirements.

HCN sells established Asian Violet plants, including named cultivars and selected species. Many are valued as much for patterned, textured, silvered or otherwise distinctive foliage as for their flowers.

The terms Asian Violet and Primulina may therefore appear together in HCN product titles, descriptions and collection information.

Hoya

HCN also maintains a substantial and growing collection of Hoya.

Hoya requirements vary considerably between species and cultivars. Leaf thickness, growth habit and natural habitat can influence watering, light and humidity requirements.

HCN therefore does not treat all Hoya as having identical care requirements. Individual product information and HCN Hoya care resources should be consulted when available.

Other Gesneriads

In addition to African Violets and Asian Violets, HCN grows and sells other members of the Gesneriad family, including Episcia, Streptocarpus, Alsobia, Codonanthe, Sinningia/Gloxinia and other genera as available.

Not every plant containing Primulina in an older name, synonym or product history should automatically be assumed to belong to HCN's Asian Violet collection. HCN's current Shopify collection organization is the authoritative source for HCN's merchandising taxonomy.

Plant Care Information

Plant-care requirements vary by genus, species, cultivar, growing environment and season.

HCN provides care information through product descriptions, collection resources and dedicated care information. Those plant-specific resources should take precedence over generalized plant-care recommendations.

HCN generally grows plants in appropriately aerated, well-draining media and adjusts watering, light, temperature and other growing conditions according to the requirements of the plants being grown.

Inventory and Availability

HCN's inventory changes frequently as plants grow, sell, become ready for sale or move between bloom stages.

Some cultivars and species may be available only in limited quantities. A product being unavailable at one time does not necessarily mean HCN has permanently discontinued it.

Shipping Area

Heavenly Creation Nursery ships live plants to the contiguous 48 United States.

HCN currently does not ship to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, or international destinations.

Live Plant Shipping

HCN packs live plants with the objective of protecting the plant, pot, foliage and growing media during shipment.

Cold-weather protection, including insulation and heat packs, may be used when appropriate.

Live plants can change during transit, and flowers or buds present when a plant is packed may change or be lost during shipping. Current HCN shipping, refund and issue-reporting policies govern individual orders.
